dollar networks, including the continued expansion of our fibre optic network, HSPA+ and LTE — Canada’s largest
and fastest wireline and wireless network.
Name and description of hiring team
This career opportunity is with the IP/MPLS Network & Security Team at Bell Canada’s downtown Toronto office. The
selected candidate will be part of a team that is responsible for developing and supporting solutions and services for Bell
Canada’s regional and national networks. The work consists of lab research and exploration, service development, product
assessment and associated validation for introduction into production networks.
The successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for developing and executing lab validation, platform and
technology verification programs in support of new products and technologies introduction to the Bell Canada IP/MPLS
service and network infrastructure. Specifics include:
 Delivery of quality IP/MPLS, SDN & Virtualization and Network Automation technologies and equipment platform
exploration, verification and certification programs in support of new technology and product development
 Interact and work with equipment vendors on technology evaluations and/or joint service development programs
 Automation of network provisioning and failure detection, analysis and recovery
 Develop ideas to enhance Bell's competitiveness in the IP Service Provider services arena
 Provide consultation on network technologies as subject matter expert
 Maintain a good level knowledge on network and related technologies, industry trends and directions
• University degree in computer science and engineering or equivalent
 Sound knowledge on networking (TCP/IP, routing protocols and principles)
 Fundamental knowledge on virtualization technologies (Virtual Machine, SDN, Openstack, server & storage … etc)
 Fundamental knowledge in Linux system (Ubuntu, RedHat … etc)
 Fundamental knowledge in system programming and scripting (C, C++, Python … etc)
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills with a strong attention to detail
• Strong time management skills and work ethic (highly motivated) to manage multiple projects/accountabilities
• Gifted thinker who is extremely resourceful, quick learner, self-driven and proactive
• Good team player, strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Strong aptitude to recognize opportunities for improvement in day-to-day work and take appropriate actions
 Candidates of industry recognized technical certifications/designations will be preferred such as Cisco Certified
Network Professional (CCNP), VMware Certified Associate (VCA), VMWare Certified Professional (VCP), RedHat
Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), knowledge in RedHat Ansible Playbook
Work hours are Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours each week. Some overtime may be required in order to meet deadlines.
